"A big part of the design was to incorporate the spectacular views of the Glasshouse Mountains and to use stone, glass and timber in the construction. A warm, country atmosphere with casual entertaining and a number of transition zones that blended the same styles and materials from inside to outside was created. The vision was realised with this American style mountain lodge with an Australian feel" Dave Becker

Becker Constructions wins HIA Home of the Year

On October 7, 2017, the Housing Industry Association, the voice of the residential construction industry in Australia, held its annual Sunshine Coast/Wide Bay housing awards at a cocktail function at the Novotel, Twin Waters.

The awards recognised building and design excellence and are known for ‘raising the bar’ in contemporary design, construction, innovation and housing technology.

Winner of the major award category on the night was Becker Constructions taking out Sunshine Coast Home of the Year with a superbly designed and custom built home in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

The judges described the project as “A finely detailed American style mountain lodge with an Australian twist maximizing panoramic views over the Glasshouse Mountains. The use of stone, glass and timber throughout, gave the home a warm, country atmosphere and clever use of transitional zones enabled the inside and outside aspects of the home to blend”. In all the judges were impressed with the high level of craftsmanship, engineering and design. Despite other exceptional homes the judges had no hesitation in voting the project the overall winner.
